How Do Bees Actually Fly?

How Do Bees Actually Fly?

There are approximately 16,000 species of bees worldwide. Most are solitary insects, with only about 5 percent having a structured social order. The common western honeybee (Apis mellifera) is one of these social bee species and can create a colony with as many as 80,000 bees in a single hive. Every one of them can fly—and fly extremely well—covering, on average, 15 kilometers a day, every day of their life.

But the question has remained for centuries:

How do these seemingly physics-defying creatures actually fly with very small wings relative to their body weight and mass?

According to Arizona State University:

“Bees fly by rapidly flapping their wings, which can beat over 230 times per second. Their wings are flexible and twist during flight, allowing them to create enough lift to carry heavy loads like nectar and pollen.”

This explanation does not, however, fully explain how bees actually carry such heavy loads while flying incredible distances or navigate and maneuver with such amazing precision. They are, after all, not very aerodynamic with their short stubby bodies and even shorter and stubbier wings. To the casual observer, they appear to be very ill-designed for the purpose of flight.

In the 1930s, French entomologist August Magnan noted that the bee's flight is actually impossible—but it is not known how he resolved this apparently obvious denial of facts.

According to Livescience.com, Michael Dickinson, a professor of biology and insect flight expert at the University of Washington, was quoted as saying:

"The whole question of how these little wings generate enough force to keep the insect in the air is resolved. There are details remaining, but it's just not an enigma anymore."

While we can’t wait for Mr. Dickenson to reveal those pesky little “details remaining,” according to many scientists, there are more than just a few minor details that need to be answered for us to completely understand how bees actually fly, hover, travel such distances, and navigate in the air with such keen precision.

In 2001, a Chinese research team led by Lijang Zeng of Tsinghua University glued small pieces of glass to bees and then tracked reflected light as they flew around in a laser array. But now, Dickinson says, researchers are more interested in the finer points of how insects control themselves once they're in the air.

So there you have it. There’s no need to work on those pesky little details of how bees maintain flight now.

Perhaps these “details remaining” somehow defy modern scientific principles as we know them? Is this the real reason why they aren’t concerning themselves with this conundrum anymore?

Our inquisitive minds are still asking questions.

Modern Day Research: Frequency, Energy & Vibration

Modern-day researchers are now revealing alternative explanations based on frequency that do, in fact, defy modern scientific principles—and we couldn’t agree with them more. This research reveals new findings based on lesser-known principles that were first discovered by Nikola Tesla and are based upon the principles of frequency, energy, and vibration.

From Godelectric.com:

“When bees fly through the air, they collide with charged particles, from dust to small molecules. These impacts tear electrons away from their cuticle (their outer shell) and the bee ends up with a positive charge. We’ve known that insect cuticle builds up electric charge since 1929. Uwe Greggers from the Free University of Berlin has shown that Bees can detect these fields with the tips of their antennae, with measurements of living Bees producing voltages up to 450 volts. The insects’ waxy cuticles are responsible—they’re so electrically resistant that a substantial charge can build up and stay there. Since the 1960s, scientists have speculated that these charges could be useful during pollination.”

Godelectric.com goes on to say:

“The Bee is often carved adjacent to the Wheat plant in ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs, showing that there is an underlying principle in the method of pollination. When bees approach the plant, pollen can actually fly through the air onto their bodies due to the charge differential between the Bee and the Plant. This is why the Bee hieroglyph means extraction.”

Interesting, but does it fully explain how bees actually fly and hover?

A Documentary Suggestion: "Resonance – Beings of Frequency"

We believe the documentary film Resonance – Beings of Frequency provides the most plausible and complete answer:

“Next to the larynx in the bumblebee’s throat, there is a tiny hollow tube that acts as a resonance cavity that accumulates frequency. When the bee starts beating its wings, it does this to accumulate frequency which bounces back and forth in the resonator cavity until it reaches the same frequency of the earth, known as the Schumann frequency. Once the bee reaches the same frequency as its surroundings it evens out into what is known as zero point. When anything reaches zero point you can then change the energy. The bee is now free from the gravitational influence around it, creates its own little magnetic bubble and hovers around. There are some lizards and hummingbirds that do the same thing.” – Ralph Ring
