The brilliant “angelic” videographer that made the video for us (below) is named Angel Robinson.
Angel is a fourth generation local from the Columbia River Gorge of the Pacific Northwest US.
Her family has worked in both agriculture and forestry for generations and represent a significant part of the history of the gorge.
Angel worked for several years in conservation, and is now a full-time forester. To make ends meet as a single mother, Angel additionally started a side business providing drone mapping services to a diversity of industries.
In her words, “One day at a local gas station, a well known bee keeper and pollinator, James Browning, acted like he was going to jump out in front of her truck as a joke. They laughed about it at the pumps and started a conversation about Browning's history as a bee keeper in the gorge. I learned that he has been providing bees to orchards of the gorge for 40+ years and Browning spoke passionately about bee conservation and the severe challenges that our bee population is currently facing and the difference 4RBees is making.”
They exchanged business cards and Angel got on her way. Within five minutes, she felt the urge to give him a call...what she described as "a nudge from something greater". She immediately called him and told him she wanted to help.
"I can use my drone and get some footage, we can make a video that tells a meaningful story. People need to know what's going on here. This is important!"
With coordination by Angel with local farmers, James Browning, and his apprentice Ash McCracken, a couple of months later, this video was created to tell the story of the bees and their importance.
Angel's family has lived in the Columbia River Gorge area for generations and she hopes this beautiful land will sustainably flourish and provide for her children and grandchildren and for generations to come. She intimately understands that bees are a vital part of that sustainability.
